About Us

January 4th, 2007

I Love French , is a project of the French Embassy in New Zealand, aimed at providing information about the use and image of the French language in New Zealand and in the rest of the world.

The French Embassy wishes to draw to the attention of the general public, the NZ authorities and all professionals involved in educational activities some elements about the way the French language is perceived and used by New Zealanders currently living in New Zealand or in France, whether they consider French as a professional, a cultural or a leisure asset.

It aims to demonstrate that, for a New Zealander, using French might be a dominant factor in anyone’s professional and private life, especially in today’s world where it is now widely acknowledged that speaking one or several foreign languages increases opportunities and opens new doors.

It also aims to illustrate the fact that French, being the most widely taught foreign language in the world (as it is taught in every education system all over the world), endorses a reputation for embodying culture, discernment and education.
